I was born in Singapore and then moved around to live in India, Japan, and Canada before settling in Iowa for high school. I chose to come to Iowa City to pursue my interest in STEM while also working toward my ultimate goal of entering the field of medicine. A key element of medicine is the doctor’s duty to teach their patients and help them understand the important details of their health. Teaching has always spoken to me; I like helping people learn and understand things they didn't previously know. My interests aligned with the Cole Group’s: Better chemistry education methods to help students understand chemistry more efficiently. In my time with the Cole Group, I hope to strengthen my chemistry knowledge and research skills while making a positive impact in the chemistry education field. Apart from any academic pursuits, I enjoy lifting weights, combat sports, and eating delicious food that may not necessarily be healthy!
